There was stress with a homework folder not being put back in backpack, and the main phone line not working (it's working now) so the kid's message to me got read about 3 hours later 'cause I was asleep when the voicemail came in... But overall, things worked out.
And I got a holly egg! Yay! I had to swap out one of my hatchlings to get it, that I've promised to someone else entirely, so there will need to be double-swapping going on.
Lightning+Lightning=rejection, apparently.

Drove with mom and kid over to the social studies class. Talked with T., main organizer there, about getting together with kid's teacher(s) and drawing up some ideas -- either as a 504 (501? I get the numbers confused!) plan officially, or as an unofficial one -- to address the kid's organizational issues. Having a diagnosis is a Very Nice Stick.
T. also wants to come visit and set up a workstation for the kid for homework stuff.

It had to thaw out, but seems to be functioning. Now we just need to do a load of dishes...
Kid did her horn homework, and was very enthusiastic and upbeat (genki?) about trying again and again till she got a good grade. (Eventually, a 93 was submitted.)

2) How did you end up getting to work on In Nomine?
Wrote some IOU-In Nomine stuff, and people saw it and thought it had the right "feel" to it... Then I wound up being the person who, in playtester mode, pointed out stuff that SJ looked at and said, "Yes. That is an issue. I mentioned it before. Why has this not been fixed yet?" (I.e., demonstrated my ability to read his mind with at least 50% accuracy.) So... Ta-da!
3) How did you & your husband meet?
On a BBS spin-off-from SJ Games' BBS, actually. Then on the SJ Games BBS. Then he came down to visit some of the staff there, and met me as well, and wound up showing off a bit by paying for the movie tickets that we went to see. I, being a mercenary wench, sent him email (BBS private message, technically) asking if he was still around ('cause there was another movie I'd have liked to go see), and he said he was safely back in NH.
The rest is... archived, actually. He has the printouts. O:>
4) What is the status of LA being sent out to agents/publishers?
Gotta whack LA1 down to 125K (it's about 300 words away!) or lower, gotta get LA2 down to no more than 150K and preferably 125K itself (and it's currently around 130K with cuts and I need to figure out how to rewrite a couple scenes to one shorter one with the data I really need), and gotta work on Project V. *sob*
5) Favorite morning drink to start the day?
Chai, actually. Chai lattes are good, too. Usually, though, a drink of water to wash down my thyroid pill.

School store in about an hour. (Well, I have to leave in about an hour, give or take a little.) Then back for a bit. Pick up kid at bus stop. Feed kid. Get kid to her after-school kids-musical class thing, which is going to be, I think, at an old-folks community apartments. Maybe grab dinner. Go to high school band concert which is, the band director kinda told everyone, a semi-required thing for grades. ("It's like a test; get a flyer from the show and write your name on it, and it's an A.") Come home and hop over to Eonar. O:>
I'm not going to be on much, yeahhhhh.
(I am bemused by the new washing machine, which has numerous settings and combinations. However, it washes, and it does not leave oil spots on things, so I think I will come to terms with it quickly.)

December 17, 2009: Back from the Dead
The In Nomine: Game Master's Guide has been out of print for . . . a while, let's put it. It has been condemned to a life of second-hand stores and eBay auctions for longer than we care to think about. But no more! Through the power of PDF this book has shed its corporeal form, and it is born anew in the digital realm of cyberspace!
So just what is the In Nomine: Game Master's Guide? Well, it's a guide for people who run - or "Game Master" - games of In Nomine. Simple.
Okay, fine, it's more complex than that. It covers stuff like choosing a mood for your game, how religion can affect your game, how to act like a Superior, and it even has an optional rule or three to mix things up a bit. There's some character building stuff, some team building stuff, and loads of words on Words. In general, it's just dang helpful.

New dishwasher on Friday.
Yay, now I can wash clothes without hauling them across town, or getting oil all over them!
There was some minor terror after, when it was found that a door to Outside had been blown somewhat open by the wind. All the older three cats were sensibly indoors. Dickens was nowhere to be found. We eventually went to lunch (closing the door securely, but leaving the garage door a little up) and when we came back, he was inside, peering at us with bafflement.
Spouse is on vacation. Yay!
